Best Training Secret

Runner's World came out with "The Best of Running" in this month's issue. Making the honor roll for Best Training Secret was "Run slow when you're supposed to run slow."

What makes this the best secret is that it's so hard to actually do. Running my first 17 this morning at an intentional slow pace of 8:40 was brutal. How does running slow make me faster?

Catching on

Slowly, people are understanding that running is GOOD for your body. And that with proper and efficient form, you can run injury free.

Even the NY Times is catching on.

So, stop wearing orthotics, high stability shoes, running with your foot turned out at a 45 degree angle and focus on your form, ChiRunning Style.

Speed bursts are good for the heart

There is something so rewarding about pulling a 5:43 pace quarter-mile sprint after a 5 mile recovery run, the day after an 18-miler.

Why I love to run

I love running because of FOOD - being able to eat delicious food in massive quantities!

Enjoy the Caramel Corn...

The re-return

If anything could bring me back to blogging - it *could* be running. And you throw a skirt into the mix and I may be convinced to start posting again.

Could this mark me re-return to blogging?

The Return

Four weeks ago, I had the most amazing back-to-back run, finishing the second run with an 8 at 8. My times were what they used to be, my lungs were strong, my legs didn't feel like lead. I meant to post then, make my return to my blog with an exclamatory "I'm Back!". But then health, travel and the plague got in the way.

Priorities realigned yesterday when I discovered that I no longer have black toenails, my right of passage into the world of running and I decided to Return. If anything can get me blogging again, it's running.

Ummm...

Has it really been months since I last posted? Guess so. Not as into the blogging as I thought.
